RECYCLING!!!!!!!

Seriously, I've always been a huge advocate of recycling. I may not be the most enviromentally friendly in a lot of respects (I use disposable diapers, I still can't manage a short shower to conserve water, I drive a mini SUV, etc.), but I BELIEVE IN RECYCLING. I loved that my hometown growing up had a recycling program. But Eugene/Oregon sure lives up to their "green" reputation. They have the most amazing recycling program. And I love it. GO GREEN, EVERYONE!

Eugene Public Library

This is one thing about Eugene I am increasingly grateful for. We have a great library system back at home, and I was SO glad to move here and find the library to be fantastic. Dallin and I go to baby story time there every week, and they have a great selection of books, movies, music, etc. I would be lost without a good library.
Smith Family Bookstore

AWESOME used book store. Love spending time just browsing...you never know what you might find.....
Eugene Saturday Market

The oldest Saturday market in the country. First one was in 1970. It is a blast. I love wandering through the vendors' tents, gazing longingly on all the fresh produce and bread, sucking flavored honey out of straws, etc. End of March through October, every Saturday, rain or shine. We take everyone who comes to visit us during those months to the market.
Market of Choice
A really great local grocery store. They have plenty of organic things, but "normal" food as well (sorry, I'm no vegan). A great bakery, respectable sushi, amazing deli, etc. And they sell the most amazing cinnamon scented soap by the ounce...it actually makes me excited to take a shower because I get to use it!

Hiking trails, running/biking trails, parks everywhere, etc. One of the things I loved about home was all the things to do outside all throughout the state. Landon and I like to spend as much time outside as possible, so Eugene is a great fit for that. Eugene (and Oregon) has lots of great places to be outdoors!

The Coast

I'm not into hot, sunny beaches. I'm into rocky and kinda cold beaches! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Oregon coast. Seriously. It's amazing. No way to really sum it up, you'll just have to come visit and see for yourself!

Oh these pictures make me miss the Northwest. I know what you mean about recycling, it's like that in Sea-town too! I went through withdrawals when I first moved to provo. . . Oh how lucky you are!
Hey! Glad you enjoyed I Am a Mother, too! Eugene looks like so much fun! We should try to come visit you sometime. What else...oh, my hair color is all natural...maybe it's just darker 'cuz it's been winter time and I haven't seen any sun in what feels like years! Speaking of...it's snowing. Why do I always "talk" to you when it's snowing? Ughhh.
