I went running.
There's a 5K around these parts in just over two weeks, and my ever-optimistic husband thought that if I started running with him now, I could do it.
Ha.
I felt like I was breathing through a straw. We went less than a mile. And walked probably half of it.
Do you know when the last time I went running was? Think gym my sophomore year of high school. Around age 16.
I'm 27 now, for the record.
In my defense, my parents DO live on top of a mountain, in a neighborhood of nothing but hills....
I don't think I'm going to make the 5K. But I do need to invest in a sports bra if I'm going to keep this up....

Heather- so know your pain. I did not like running or want to run, but then I had an "awakening" and I suddenly really wanted to run. So I used this program http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
It takes a couple of months, but it gradually works you up from being a non-runner to be able to do a 5K. It helped me A LOT. Now I really enjoy running. Never would have thought :)
Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will make it!!!!
yeah i am definitely NOT a runner! good luck with the 5K :)
nice going! go through my archives about march and i have a post about a really great sports bra that got me through my 5K. good luck!
Hooray for running! You can do it. Definitely get a good sports bra though (or two) if you're still nursing. :)
Next time we have a gift excchange, I hope I pick your name.
Bahaha... I'm impressed you are giving it a shot!
Way to go, Heather! You are better than me, if that makes you feel any better. ;) David runs all the time. Me....not so much. The breathing through a straw, comment I can really relate to. HaHa.
