Okay, so my dad is one of the funniest people I know. And his guilty pleasure is watching the Bachelorette (or the Bachelor). Admittedly, I watched it all through college with my roommates (remember? we had such fun....), but I haven't watched it since. Well, last week Landon got sucked into watching it with my dad, and last night, I joined them. Wow. Unintentional comedy hour, as a friend of mine has phrased it in the past. It's almost more painful than an early episode of watching Michael Scott on the Office. Which is why I will be tuning in again next week...when Ali finds out one of the guys has a girlfriend on the side......who do you think it is? (Landon read a spoiler online, so if that's accurate, I know who it is...and I'm not surprised.) And who is your favorite? C'mon, 'fess up.
P.S. Kasey makes me want to puke. If he sang to me all the time like that, I might have jumped out of the helicopter....Good call on sending him home....did you SEE her reaction when he pulled out the tattoo?! (Though Ali kind of makes me want to puke too......Landon assured me I don't squeal like she does....)
P.P.S. Today is the last day to enter the giveaways for my Etsy shop, so make sure you head over and enter! coppercreekdesign.blogspot.com

The Bachelorette is my guilty pleasure too, I always feel embarrassed when people ask me what my favorite tv show is -- once NBC comedies and Glee go off for the summer, the Bachelorette is all I watch. I'm betting Justin has a GF, with a possible back up plan of Frank the Crazy Eyes. My obvious front runner choice would be Chris from Cape Cod, except I kind of think he's too good for her and should not be on this show to begin with but should be dating a lovely mormon girl, join the church and live happily ever after. Craig will without a doubt be the next to go, except the girlfriend situation will intervene so he'll stay another week longer than he really should. I don't know why she doesn't go for him -- I mean he doesn't seem all that special but he does seem nice and he is a lawyer which is a real job, unlike being an "entrepreneur" or a "retail manager" which probably means they work at Target.
Ty is just a bland southern sort. He's nice, but I have yet to see a smidge of real personality -- did you notice on this week's date how the longer they were out the more southern he seemed to get? It was like the horses brought out all his mannerisms like "we're fixin' to go down the hole" and so on. Frank is kind of crazy and his personal life seems like it needs real work (I think he was fired, not that he quit and moved to Paris. And if he did, do you want to be with someone who has a midlife crisis at the age of 25?) Roberto is dishy but also kind of blandly suave. I personally am not attracted to the sort of men hordes of girls fawn over -- that is just an invitation to adultery and I also don't need the low self esteem that would go with it. Obviously I think my husband is the most handsome ever, but I'm glad he's not a major athlete or a model or something.
Do you think Chris Harrison ever feels stupid saying things like "Gentlemen, Ali this is the final rose" or "take a moment, say your goodbyes"
This week was the least dramatic rose ceremony ever. I saw that coming a mile away -- who was Chris anyway? Wallpaper? He seemed nice, but how did he stick around? his great passion in life was Mexican food?
Those are my thoughts. You can tell I'm obsessed. I'm glad your dad watches too -- its like a sickening train wreck you cannot tear your eyes away from.
Emily, you made my day. THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Gosh I wish I could have been there to watch "Bachelorette" with Landon and your dad. Watching it with men who have dry senses of humor is the best! I agree with you about Kasey. He gave me the creeps!
Wait . . . Are you saying that I have a dry sense of humor?
