What have I done?

I've been resisting this move for a long while now...but tonight, I finally gave in.

I'm having regrets already.

Even Landon says he is too.

What's so very wrong with bars? I like the prison look.....

Wish us luck on the first night!!!!!!

I can't wait to hear how it goes.

I'm dreading the big jump. Write down all of your tips so you have advice when I'm there.

Good Luck. It will be so nice having him in his own bed. Bennett didn't take to it at first so we put him back in his crib for a week. Then one night he just wanted to sleep in his big bed and hasn't looked back. It's wonderful.

Good luck, Heather! Consistently I've heard my friends all agree that the first two weeks are torture and kids never want to sleep in their bed (or stay in their bed) but in the end they get used to it. It took Alec about two weeks to get the hang of it, and during that two weeks he boycotted naps, and cried himself to sleep at night at the foot of his door. We even had to put the baby gate up so he wouldn't wake up and wander around the house at night. Then he learned how to climb over the baby gates. :-) Eventually though he finally got it and now it's not a problem at all! So here is my wishing you luck and patience over the next few weeks. Love ya!

I had a breeze switching Adam to a toddler bed so I think it totally depends on the kid and how they've slept in the past. Adam has always been great about self-soothing himself to sleep so it didn't seem to phase him to be in new bed. But every kid is different....I'm dying to know how the first night went!

Hope you survived the first night and are having success! We've been doing the toddler bed for a week and a half without any major incident, but Lexie has always been a wonderful sleeper so I wasn't too surprised. For your sake, I hope Dallin ends up being just as easy. Even if the beginning is rough, though, he'll catch on. They all do eventually. :)
