Remember that fabric swatch I showed you for baby girl's bassinette? Well, I did it. It's finished.
I did it, without any pattern or any help from anybody, including my mom. Given, the gathers are a little uneven in spots, I bent a sewing machine needle and too many pins to count, my seam ripper and I spent way too much time together, I yelled at my son when he came near the thing, my fingers have so many pinpricks in them they look like swiss cheese (slight exaggeration) and I swore four times, twice in my head and twice outloud (but it came out in a whisper, so my son didn't hear it).
(Which brings me to another topic.....my husband has never sworn in his life. His whole life! He says those words just don't pop into his head. Would that I were him, seeing as the incidence of them popping into my head is directly correlated with my level of frustration. I've decided he must just be better than me....like innately better. Not that this is anything new.)
So back to my story: I did it!!!

I am so proud of my daughter's incredible sewing abilities...that turned out to be soooo adorable!!!!
First of all, you make me laugh. Second, you did that without a pattern or any help!?!? I am SUPER impressed. It's adorable and turned out great!!
so cute! i'm so impressed and i think you've actually inspired me to dust off my sewing machine and doing something creative!
I love it! Good job! Hey, it's been awhile since I've heard from you, hope life is going good.
It's beautiful, Heather! Way to go!
And a husband who has never sworn... wow. I think I now officially know someone who is older than a toddler who has never sworn... even in his head. :-)
Heather-
I am so very VERY impressed. How did you do it? I just came to this page from googling how to make a curtain panel--so that shows how amazing it is that you did that with no help and no pattern.
Does Baby Girl Ipson have a name yet? I think we're do for another stomach shot!
Wow Heather, great job! I am seriously impressed. Maybe I need to take some lessons from you. And don't worry, I think every seamstress's best friend is the seam ripper. Glad to see you are enjoying your new toy.
Wow I'm impressed! The colors are so bright and cheery! I'm going to try and make a patchwork quilt for Adam's toddler bed like the ones we made in high school. I think that'll be much easier than all that tailoring and gathering you just did! :)
It's beautiful! And you didn't use a pattern? WOW! And I find the older I get the more swear words pop into my head. And the more time I spend driving in Atlanta with the sucky traffic, the more words leave my head through my mouth. Luckily I don't have kids to hear me, yet...That is not an announcement, by the way.
That is amazing! Can you give me lessons? My machine has been used twice and is currently in a box in the closet...sigh...your project is fantastic!
Wow! Heather, I am so impressed!!! It turned out so well - its so dang cute! Good job!
And you make me smile. I love you.
