mucus

I had trouble sleeping last night. I was playing the snot-draining game. You know, where you curl up on one side, and oh so slowly, all the liquid mucus in your head pools into one side of your nose, leaving part free and clear, the other part hopelessly plugged.
I can’t stand the lack of symmetry. So I roll over to the other side (I COULD lay on my back, but I only crave back-sleeping when I’m gigantically pregnant and can’t). And the snot starts draining again. Slowly, but fast enough that I can’t fall asleep before it has all oozed into place in one side of my nose. So then I roll over again. And again. And again.
This is why they invented NyQuil.
While I was rolling, I was thinking. Deep thoughts.
Most of which I’ve forgotten, but I was planning on telling you about it (assuming I still have any readers…Landon says after the last post, no one will ever read my blog again). (Oh, and just to clarify, that WAS NOT my face….it’s amazing what you can find on Google images!) And it was GOOD. Or, at least, amusing. Sorry. You’ll have to seek amusement elsewhere today.
But for now, let me just say that the sky in Eugene is GLORIOUS today.

XOXOXO

I'm experiencing a similar thing right now, only it's my left ear that has been plugged for 2 days. I can't hear anything out of it and it's really starting to annoy me. Don't you love being sick?!

Ah Heath-Jam, I love you and miss you. Sorry you are sick, it sure is the pits. I totally felt like that a few weeks ago, it was MISERABLE. I found that sleeping with two pillows helped things, um drain a little more. Ugh, good luck. Also, AFRIN is a miracle nose spray for colds.

I'm totally with you on that nasty game. Then I remember that I am no longer pregnant or nursing, therefore I can take drugs again! Thank Heaven for Sudafed Nasal Decongestant! Now if only my little people could start breathing and stop coughing...

Ahh Heath-Jam . . . only you could write about mucus and make it sound poetic.

I hope you feel better soon!
